What drove your decision to
I was looking for a new challenge and to invest in my personal
future after serving in the armed forces.
What was your first position
with Glatfelter? Describe the additional opportunities you’ve
experienced during your tenure.
My first position was the reel operator in production plant 1.
My next opportunity was to move into a machine operator to prove
myself in that position.
What has been your most
rewarding career moment at Glatfelter?
My most rewarding career moment at Glatfelter was my first
international business trip to our facility in Gatineau, Canada.
What is your primary
responsibility within Glatfelter’s operations?
My primary responsibility to know all of our machines in order
to provide back-up during designated break times for all of my
colleagues. Another big responsibility is to work on any given
machine in the event of illness and/or vacation. I also provide
instruction to our trainees.
Tell us about an exciting or
challenging project you have worked on at Glatfelter.
I was given the opportunity during the start of production plant
3 as a multi operator. Currently I’m working on assignment to
provide additional support in our Canadian operation.
What are the key skills and
competencies required in your current role?
I must be able to work independently in all machines and take on
a lot of individual responsibility.
What advice would you give to
someone considering employment with Glatfelter?
They should be adaptable and willing to work hard and take on
additional responsibility. Glatfelter is a good choice and was the
right decision for me.

I’m not long enough in this enterprise yet.
How do you strike a good
work/life balance? Does the company help you do this?
I always try to maintain my social contacts. As a result, I
often meet my colleagues in my free time too in addition to working
with them. In general, my family and friends are a very important
part of my life.
